oh and I drilled holes in my plated crossmember to accept the NATO hitch now that I have ditched the full tow hitch. Have ordered the Wolf external plate and the internal backplate.

Two concerns that I have is that the back plate might not fit as that is where the crossmember is a bit buckled from a shunt it had (the outside was over plated with 6mm plate nd spacers to make the crossmember look straight again.

Also worried that the sankey trailer is going to ride too high now rather than nose down. Might have to put taller tyres on the trailer.

Took the 90 for a trip to the beach... Well its the Mediterranean thats off in the distance... Day trip to Spain on Monday, then hopefully Tuesday afternoon, point the 90 towards the UK and head back...

Today car goes in for a super exhaustive health check at a new to us independent specialist with a view to either keeping it if its sound or punting it if not. Got just a little bit of the fear that it may have to go but I'll have to wait and see.

It needs a few bushes and seals some front pads and possibly an exhaust oh and the waxoil needs a topup. Not too bad all told, about where I thought or a little worse.

Well thats a vote of confidence for the old gal then...

Today well yesterday as well we drove up from the Med and Im currently sitting in Mcd's waiting on the late ferry crossing... A word to the wise, always book 12hrs in advance with P & O otherwise the price doubles, we would have been home in Lincs by now if we had paid the £100 the early sailing... But we thought we would take the cheap option and do some shopping and a lot of waiting... Hey ho we live and learn...

Talking of expense the list of work for car has been quoted at 390quid and in a departure from the last 10 years it has been accepted and I'm not doing it myself. It seems my time is better spent earning than saving.

Friday - mostly had a camera down the gullet. I do not recommend it - a glimpse of hell.

Saturday - plan on emptying out the garden shed, building some storage shelving and a work bench and then putting the junk back in.

Today I have to go buy some ryanair specific luggage for a trip to Dublin, as far as I can see it would have been cheaper to fly BA business class via New York by the time all the cheap flight extras and on costs are added in. 50quid for a bag in the hold, 60quid if you can't print your boarding pass, which can only be done 4 hours before the flight if you check in online, food if you can get any is extra, then there are enough taxes to fund a small dictatorship oh and if you want to park your car in the same solar system that will be eleventynintytwelve trillion tones of gold. Please.

Spent the weekend being a pedestrian tourist in Dublin. Did the Guinness and jameson tours and was underwhelmed. Toured the kill something or other gaol tour was impressed. Walked for miles and miles and ate cake. Generally very good for a city. Next time though I will go by boat so I don't have to just look at the mountains in the distance, I can go climb them.

Oh and I get a fixed land rover back tomorrow. Yay.

It was yesterday but the only excitement this week was picking up a sankey for a very reasonable fee. It seem's lately that even a complete rust bucket will sell for 150 + quid.

Simply and i don't like to brag it cost me 50 quid and it also has the bowser tank too should i want to carry 100 gallons of whatever about. It's not that old. a little bit of research on the Mil reg number suggest 1982 year.
