Plasma Cutter
« on: January 22, 2012, 16:26:54 »
I was going to buy a useless AA air rifle next wage packet but there's a 110 rolling chassis and tub sitting on my driveway full of scrap metal that needs getting rid of (both the scrap and the truck). I want to cut it up for the fun of it...

what's the thoughts on those cheap ass chinese plasma cutters that I see on eBay for around 200 notes? Do they work as described?

something like this...

I'm a convert to plasma! I've had mine a year and think it's great. I got mine from UK but Fourby got his from China and had no probs. I cut up a RRC in about 2 days (includes unbolting the bits I wanted to keep). Do find it doesn't start well in cold weather though.

It's on a normal 13 amp plug although it does trip the RCD occassionally.  :undecided:
