bed liner ideas
« on: December 11, 2011, 10:35:40 »
I'm after some ideas for lining my pickup. Needs to be cheap or free, fairly impact resistant non slip, needs to avoid rotting the bed by trapping loads of moisture.

I have looked into spray on liners but they are dear but good. Plywood is too slippy. Had then thought about industrial door mats as they are quite tough and quite grippy and rubber backed so can be sealed in place to keep water out.

What else have I missed?

Just watched Mythbusters testing bed liners.... and I'd chose that... as it is...:
  • Bump proof (Failed crash proof but slow speed bumps are ok!)
  • Dog proof... though pretty much any vehicle is!
  • Blast proof! So next time you happen to be driving past 1.5 blocks of C4 about a metre away....
Just my thoughts... hope they are useful!

Yeah cos I have sheeps in on a fairly regular basis I ideally it needs to be non slip to stop them hurting themselves. We found that out when we had scooby pickups.

I bought a roll of rubber matting from Machine Mart and stuck it in place in my 110 with some carpet tape:

It words very well too, with stuff on the wheel boxes staying put and not sliding off. Cheap too and easy to replace if damaged.
Some say that this is just a random collection of letters, and that it can only be
understood by Top Gear's tame racing driver. All we know is, it's called The Sig.
