Lexus LS400 4.0 V8 Sadly Scrapped!
« on: August 15, 2011, 15:34:22 »
The time has come to sell my lovely LS400.  It has no tax, MOT or rear seats!  I took them out to make a couch!

It's an ideal engine & gearbox conversion vehicle as they're both top notch.
I have it's service history from 600 miles to 163,274, mainly at Bentleys in Warrington and I think it's done now 179, ish... can't tell you exactly as the 'new' battery is flat due to lack of use!

In my ownership (around 3 years), I've replaced:
The starter (2nd hand but using new Lexus gaskets).
MAF filter, 2nd hand.
The tyres were new around 6k ago (225-60-16W Kumho's)
Had a new battery last year too.
I had the power steering leak fixed, again using Lexus seals etc.

The faults are:

Rear seat removed.
Two rear broken springs.
NS front brake is a tad sticky.
Front heated seat don't, but rest of electrics do.
The usual LCD thing for the radio/heater.
Exhaust is blowing at the 'Y' piece I think.
'lecy aerial does work, but doesn't fully go down, suspect it needs a good dowsing of WD40!
Has a huge plume of grey smoke on start up, suspect it's the power steering regulator thing as I used to have to top it up.
Body work is a bit scruffy, there's a big hole in the rear NS door and I think rust is beginning to creep in other places too.

I haven't used it regularly in over a year, the seats got a bit mouldy over xmas, and the headlining was wet through, but I gave the seats a quick wipe and they're ok, though the drivers seat has worn away a bit on the side.

I've just got it's log book back from the DVLA as I've just retained it's psnl plate so it hasn't got plates on.

I want
