I put the one without the flexi but it did cause some vibrations so would be better to have the flexi.

I'd be very interested in hearing more about these 'vibrations' you've all mentioned. If someone could tell me when and how they are felt I'd be very grateful.

Andy the cheaper Defender pipe is ESR 2297 iirc but If I was doing mine again I would use the Disco one With the flexi in ESR2740.

the vibration is caused by the movment in your engine it can be bad or hardly noticable , the thing is any part that vibrates is prone to wear or failure (ive seen one break the manifold after 6 months of being on the car ) so i would advise the one with the flexi to stop this event.

Depends what you want from your Disco really and how the budget looks...

The straight through pipe is a Defender item (as per Karlo) and will be slightly 'harsher' than anything with a flexi pipe - the other main difference is, of course, the cost!

The Defender pipe is less than
Discovery 300 Tdi - 2" lift, side exit exhaust, HD bumpers, T-Maxx 9500, removable tow hitch, snorkel and 235/85's

Discovery 4 Commercial - very standard but very nice!

Freelander 2 TD4 - Fun Prevention Officer's

I've got one for ours but I can't shift the manifold bolts and don't want it off the road at the moment.  I've already fitted a doble S sports pipe and it does increase noise, so I'm not sure if it will be too much without the particle filter (IIRC they asked me if it had one when I bought the exhaust).

You don't notice it normally but when towing recently it sounded bad and the vibrations seem to have shaken the bumper corners loose.
