welders....

V8MoneyPit:
As with other comments, I would suggest you need something more powerful than a 100. It will struggle to get proper penetration on the chassis thickness. At least for any time anyway. You will be running near it's top end, so the thermal cutout will.... err..... cut out often. I've had a SIP 130 for many years and that would cut out sometimes when doing heavier work on chassis'.

--- Quote from: Mutz on June 28, 2011, 22:19:09 ---I bought a clarke years ago; 100 i believe, have welded loads with it including ally and its gassed. Gas is not that expensive and you get about 1/2 hours use out of a bottle, you weld for seconds at a time so you can get a lot out of 1 bottle.

For anyone learning to weld this is a good site......http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/....... might help you@ Topple.

thanks - found that site a few weeks ago, finally got some good welds going tonight - I had a frustrating time to start with - once I turned the gas up more its all going swimmingly :-)

TimM:
If you look below Daves picture you'll see his location.

For anyone who hasn't added their location to their profile then it's easy to add it and it can benefit both you and others especially when you have problems and need help
