chattering noise in neutral?
Frankie-Boy:
Just had mine all done on the Disco, cover - plate - fork - bearing - and the bit the fork sits on, including fitting - £225, flippin' good deal I thought.
ctecuk:
The noise is caused by the springs in the spinner plate rattling.
A way of checking if this is the problem, with the engine running in neutral without touching the clutch gently push the gear lever towards first gear enough for the syncromesh to engage and apply some resistance to the clutch, if the noise stops the load springs are shot at.
Seems this is a common problem on disco's mine is the same.
Got this trick from a gearbox rebuilder

hobbit:
I get a similar noise in mine too, but found out it was SWMBO, when I was on my own it stopped!!

Wanderer:
Mine has been doing it since I got it 4 years ago.

Andy.:
Hehe can I join in too
Mine did this when I first bought it, the clutch finally gave up the ghost and a whole new clutch kit put in, still does it now :?
Will go out though and try Mark's tip, MOT end of March so see about it then
