Trailer no floor
« on: November 14, 2010, 19:13:27 »
Evening all....

We have a stock box that has no floor in it at the moment and we are needing to flit in a hurry 400miles down country... Just wondering if having no floor could be a bit of an issue...

as long as the tyres are covered with arches, why would it, I tow boat trailers empty, they have less on them, and they bounce like a b*tch!

Depends if it was empty or not.

We took the floor out of it as it was rotten... And havent got time to put it back in.... so the rest of the box is there, sides, roof, and tail board.... just no floor...

Problem is going to be the wind getting in, and then not being able to get out

If you tow at speed it could be and the floor probably stiffens it aswell. Probably best to strap something with a bit of weight onto the frames and tow it slowly.

Not intending on towing at speed... I'll get there when I get there kinda thing and on the A9 at night theres too many red deer wandering about to be trying to tow at speed..... and Ive an axle to get strapped down inside it, which should weigh it down a bit...

Should be alright then but leave the back door, it will bit too flimsy without it I'd guess.  Make sure it's nose-down too.
