driving with center diff lock on

(1/2) > >>

bodgeitjo:
as above how much damage would it do by driving around with center difflock on all the time.

L90OOK:
It'd be horrible & fairly dangerous on wet roads as will bounce about.  If it's stuck in diff lock you can just remove the front prop until you fix the problem.

bodgeitjo:
its not stuck on its the only way it drives if i take it off it just shudders, and doesn't feel like its engageing properly

ChrisV8:
If it won't drive without it locked something has already broken.  !!

List of possibilities is endless, diffs, halfshafts, drive members, then props to break then big bits to go , gearbox, transfer gear, transfer box. Suggest you investigate before wrecking anything else.

ok so the 110 was sat for 2 years the doner engine box 6 months it only drove the lenth of the drive when i put it together it seemed ok . when the original gear box went i was driving down the m26 and it seized up the mechanic said it was the gear box but what im wondering is could it have done more damage to the running gear. it did stop very abrubtly. its got a salisbury diff on the back im told their quite strong so if i check rear drive shafts first then start on the front is there any tell tell signs that something has gone if you cant see it visibly. cheers jo
