Ok this might sound daft but here goes, i have the above on my Disco but want to get rid. Is it possible to paint them with black hammerite?, by this i mean if i wire brush them to give the paint something to adhere to will it stay on or do i not bother and just replace with black bumpers. Any help appreciated thanks.

dxmedia:
Spray with this stuff first ;)

That's hydrochloric acid. Even sanding chrome wont help, you really need to etch it well.

Looks like a replacement job then, as a matter of interest how many have winches fitted and DO use them?.

dxmedia:
Yeah, and yes. Probably only use about 50% for recovery work. Rest of the time loading trailers, moving trailers / caravans, pulling stumps, shifting things....  handy thing to have. I'm fitting both front and rear to the mog, I think that there's more situations where a rear winch would be of benefit

Chrome bumpers? how new is the Disco Andy?

Would it not be better to remove them and sell them? they'd be worth about as much as black ones wouldn't they?
