Ok all you 4x4 pick up lovers. Which have you? whats its faults , why do you love it ,or hate it ??  MPG figure may help me descide what to get, it must be able to carry a few animals (sheep etc) Im considering a d22 , or ranger, as toyota are over

landmannnn:
Nissan D40 is still the best.

Toyota unbeatable reliability though.

bushcraft:
There seems to be a lot of ford rangers about, anybody tell me what they are like, reliability ,mpg etc etc. please.

Terranger:
I've got a Land Rover 110, but, they're a bit pricey.

The sump's been changed, because the Spanish Army found they were too soft.

The fuel pump, or something to do with it, had to be changed, cos it was surging and stalling. But, I still think it's more to do with that stupid limiter, cos, I've experienced the same thing with buses.

I've heard the vacuum pump goes on them, but touch wood, that's not happened yet.
I've no idea what MPG I get as I don't do a lot of mileage, and, wouldn't know how to check it.
It's a decent engine and gearbox though.
The rear tub is decent enough, and of course, you could always fit a roof-rack for more load space.

I work up the Glens, up near Edzell, where there are a few estates, and it seems that all 4x4's have been traded-in for new Landy's.

It's "horses for courses" like everyone says.

Good luck on your search.

Range Rover Blues:
I've a mate with a aRnager and he loves it.  It's the last model with mechanical fuel pump which limits how much it can be tweaked but he's had a bigger intercooler and pump tweak on it.

He gets high 30s mpg IIRC, it's got a truckman top which is water tight so it's a practical family car too though the dogs struggle to hang on to the liner ;)

Nice car, comfy and a very capable tow car too
