Diff oil leaking from rear wheel?
nismo2004:
if its leaking from the end of the axle and all over your wheel then its the stub axle oil seal, just done both of mine along with a new set of bearings and brake pads, the old ones was shoot,
easy job to do and will take you half a day and a few cups of tea
MattDilley:
Thanks everyone for the info, have stripped it all down tonight.
I'm going to replace the seals and bearings as they all look worn??
Also reaplace the shot anti roll bar bushes while I'm at it! Lol
Thanks matt
stretchy:
anti roll bar? whats that lol
Range Rover Blues:
The oil seal jouranl on the stub axle becomes pitted, I've had a lot of trouble with them in the past even with the breather nice and clear. One of those "once you disturb it" problems too, very annoying.
The oil seal needs to sit 4mm below the surface of the hub too, I made a special tool.
DiscoDuck:
hi I set my P reg Disco hub seal 4mm below hub ,but it leaked .
I found that the later disco`s hub seal should be just below flush to hub.
as per haynes bible.
dont leak now.
