3.5 V8 Starting problems
« on: June 01, 2010, 20:17:56 »
Still my 1992 V8 Disco doesnt start!!!!
Its been in a mates garage now for 2 months and he cant get it to go.

Has fuel to the cylinders, a spark and the starter motor turns.  It seems to hydraulicly lock on turn over.  All the usual have been checked, timing etc.

Coil, leads, plugs have been changed, dissy has been checked and is ok.

Now seriously running out of patience with it, it needs to be sorted soon as Im away to Afgan in august, and its taking up space in his yard.

Any one any ideas.

Hydraulic lockon turnover, sure it's not just fuel?

Does it crank nice and fast?

Try removing the plugs (put them under the grille) and crank it to pump the cylinders dry, then refit the plugs.  If there is any fuel present it should cough at least.
