Range Rover Blues:
Next time they advertise for trainees, apply for the job.  It obviously pays better than the job you have now ;)

toSeriously though, this sucks.  They probably had to offer the "going rate" and now it's up to you to negotiate a similar amount.

Lots of companies will cut thier nose off to spite their face and let you go rather than give you more money.  You have to argue that if you leave your replacement will cost the same and have less knowledge and experience.

Oh, and if they aren't paying you as much, stop doing them favours!

boss:
....again, saved them about 200 quid today....

there might be a job going at my girlfriends work, i would be starting on about 18k, get a van, laptop, mobile phone and credit card then will go up to about 22k
but i would be going further away from my trade. and going to robs workshop today made me miss fab work even more :(
better get to work on the truck.......

dxmedia:
Which career can offer a higher wage after 5 years?

Range Rover Blues:
Hell I've got a degree and a PGCE and I only make £21,000.

Might have to go and be a street sweeper in Birmingham, the media reckon they make over £30k, that's even more than a binman in Leeds! (£18,500)

Llanigraham:
Nah, become a signalman, work 3 days a week and earn £65k......according to one of the NR directors!!  :->

And for the record, most signallers work a 48hour week and don't earn a third of that.
