a tacho question for hgv drivers.

right then another question for all.

I have now found out via my O license holder at work who called VOSA about working domestic and eu regs together and found that I need to hold all my tachos and digi card and record my times as normal in my tacho book for domestic regs and mark on tachos my start and finish time for domestic hours. So in theory nothing is recording my hours but I just need to not muck it up like say I have been driving for 10hours 4 days a week!

here is my question.

the 90hours over 2 weeks and 47hours average over 12 weeks. Does this take in poa time and or rest time or is it just driving time?

My O license person will be making spot checks on me to make sure I am obiding by the law which I dont mind as I would rather she pulled me up on something I didnt quiet get right than vosa!

I dunno about domestic rules, always been on proper tacho, but if it is like the WTD, POA and rest periods do not count (POA as long as you know the duration in advance). Driving time and other work count towards the hours.

Also, with WTD it is 48 hours over a set period of either 17 or 26 weeks, if memory serves.

You also need to know which type of fitting, veeder root use the ones with a pear shaped hole like your link, lucas kienzle use a three hole fitting.

I seem to remember there are 17 different types if the various manufacturers and speed ratings are accounted for.  If you visit fta.com there is plenty of advice plus online purchasing - pretty much essential to have a tacho wallet since you need to carry the old ones with you.
