thermostat/housing
water pump and all gaskets
new radiator
sender unit
done many coolant changes, check airlocks
we are baffled
what happends is she is fine on town runs, as soon as we hit motorway it goes up just under red, and then let of throttle and cools down,
if anyone can see something we are missing, any help is much appricated.
Thanks

Is it overheating I.E. does it boil over or is the gauge just high?
Saffy:
run around without the front grill fitted, when it goes high temp then pull over and feel the radiator - should be hot all over it... if not then go from there.
ChrisW70:
Might be a daft question but it's not a disco engine or got a disco temp sender has it? Seem to remember something about when fitting disco engines to defenders that the temp gauge needs a different sender as the disco one causes the defender gauge to read high temps...
