Rad air lock
The Electrician:
Right then, someone will know how to sort this.....
On my rad (plug at top of rad is stuck in place, so can't get that out) the bottom hose is hot, expasion tank, water pump, heater blows warm air (not hot, but then again, it is a disco).
Top hose and rad is cold and the water is boiling hot in expansion tank..............
..........Can i assume it is an air lock (pump works fine)
If it is a ir lock, how do i sort it out?
Cheers guys
Gary
disco2 td5:
you could try takeing the top hose off the radiator and blead it that way
crazymac:
Have you exhausted all avenues to get the top plug out? Cos you really need to work at this! Makes life so much easier.
Once out replace it with a metal one from a plumming suppliers or Difflock!
The Electrician:
The plug in the Rad is a Brass one and the butcher that tried to get it out before just knackered it, it is all chewed up and if I bang it about, i reakon the already dented rad (around the plug) will just split and thren it will cost me a new rad, which I could really do without.
crazymac:
In that case, take the expansion tank cap off and run the engine while pumping the bottom hose, have a supply of water handy to top up the tank as required.
