torque converter removal???

i have it off now thanks guys it was just nuts. just needed some extra muscle to keep it from turning and of it came.

As said be careful when you rebuild, there are 2 lots of splines and a dog that all need to be engaged, often it can feel like it's in and not be, that's when the pump gets bust.
I'd advise anyone doing this to measure the location of the torque converter with the whole lot still assemebled, you can access it throught the bottom of the bellhousing or the round access hole underneath. You MUST be sure it's fully engaged before you attempt to refit engine and gearbox.
I was surpried though, i thought the TC would be bigger, it's not much begger than on my 2.0Capri :-k

well it was for a guy that brought it of me so its really not my bag to put it back together. he also wanted the bell of the auto box so the end of the box compleatly fell into bits and bearings :shock: id rather fit a manual box and clutch any day
