(1/2) > >>

kizz81:
hello,
been playing at sibbertoft this weekend and went in the centre lake where i got horribly stuck last year [temping fate...] didnt realise how think the ice was untill i dropped through it  ahhh well all good fun, bent the front passnger corner on my 90 any tips for straightening it? and anyone have a spare rad grill and light surround?
leson learnt smash ice first!
oh well

cheers kieran

Saffy:
Done the same awhile back, lessons learned and have been super cautious about deep puddles and thick ice ever since. There is a lot of weight your pushing against and if the level get above the bumper then there is no strength to break the ice slabs.... the wings will lose that fight and if really unlucky it will take out the grill, radiator and intercooler too. Do it at speed and I think even shallow ice capped water might take out suspension/steering components.
To get the headlamp pointing back into the same time zone I drilled a hole and used a make shift slide/puller to pull the crushed area out as best as possible, also used existing holes and hammer a shaper from behind.

'good enough do for now repair'

wing is still like that now lol I do have a repalced wing to but never got around to fitting.

cheers, looks like a pretty neat job, i was at paddocks and managed to get a replacement front panel so all i gotta do is striaghten out the wing and put some paint back on  think ill do abit of playing with a drawing pad and see if i can work out how to ge some slightly more protective bits welded on the bull bar without changing the look to much

cheers kizz

richo:
There where 2 guys who bent the trucks the same way at tixover newyears eve

adafish:
go in backwards...using the rear crossmember as a ice breaker, then drive out when most of ice has broke up
