spare wheel size question ??

You will be fine.   Its no differen to a space saver spare that most modern cars come with.
In fact, if you do have a centre diff like every landrover other than series models then it wont make any difference to it provided it is not locked.
It will just be like the car is driving round a corner all the time.
I run 35" tyres and had to use a 32" as a spare once, no worries with it at all, just be careful when you brake or accelerate as the tyres will behave differently.
Other than that, there are no worries at all

For the cost of less than a tank of fuel is it worth messing around?

Careful.... some wrong info being provided.....

A space saver is a specific 'get you home' device and has speed limits set. That's why it is a bright colour, so plod can spot it a mile away if you are doing 60mph down the motorway.

If you carry a spare otherwise, it has to be of the same type and size as the road wheels to be legal. So you cannot use a radials on the road and have a cross ply as a spare, for example.

However, in reality, if you have a different tyre as a spare and need to get home with it, as long as you drive sensibly, you are unlikely to have a problem. But..... technically, you can be nicked for it if they've had a bad morning!
