110 two ABS & TC
« on: November 18, 2009, 08:26:16 »
Just bought a 110 TD5 defender. Been driving it for a couple of days, all was fine. But have noticed that the ABS light and Traction control light on the dash will come on, on occasions. The truck seems to drive and brake ok, so uncertain if there is actually a fault. This happened initially when I drove through puddles or any form of water :D, but has started to happen more frequently.

Any ideas where I should start the diagnosis. Are there any usual suspects that I should look at, or should I just book it into an independent for diagnosis and fix?

Could possibly just be the sensors on the sensor ring on the axle
300tdi, southdown snorkle, tubular bumper, tds winch with dyneema, tree sliders, 6 spotlights, creepy crawler tyres, 2" lift, dislocation cones, dropped mounts all round, wide angle propshafts, mud dash, bucket seats

Thanks Matt,

Excuse my ignorance - what does that mean?, Is it a simple enough job to remove, clean and check the sensors?, How would I know if a sensor was damaged?

Cheers for the help
