Feeling Left Out??

Through the grapevine it appears there are some members who think they have not been invited to events or have been treated differently to others...

We know you can't please all the people all the time but...mistakes are made and wires are crossed. Unfortunately there are some who seem intent on making things difficult.
You don't have to be a Regional Rep in order to organise events but the majority of events are organised by those who have VOLUNTEERED to be a Rep as they want to help others get out and about as much as they like to. The responsibility for checking the status and/or conditions of lanes and the availability of venues is down to them so they are the first to get it in the neck when things go wrong or somebody's not happy.

We, as Mud Clubbers, have some self imposed rules in order to keep things running smoothly. A code of conduct we apply when using lanes etc.
Is it too much to ask that new members or those we don't know personally make some effort to get to Regional meets or at least make themselves known to the Rep before they start asking for information on lanes etc in their area without us knowing anything about them. We are all well aware of those who have used the knowledge of organised groups to find out where they can go and then return to said lanes and abused them, making things difficult for the people who green lane respectfully. Checking out the status and conditions of lanes takes time and effort so this info isn't just handed out to anybody who asks.
Although sometimes it's the people we already think we know who take advantage...but anybody breaking the rules that are applied to an event wont get invited back.
Rules can get bent from time to time but  there have to be some in place so that everybody is treated fairly. If you hear about an event going on that you'd like to go to don't just tag along with a mate thinking it'll be alright...it won't be your mate that gets the flak if anything goes wrong. Find out who the organiser is and make contact.

If you have a mate who wants to come along to an event encourage them to come to a meet or make contact with the Rep or organiser so they know a bit more about who they're taking out with them. Pm's work as much for the organisers as they do for those who haven't the time for meetings...drop a pm to your Rep occasionally and let them know what you'd be interested in doing. If you hear about an event you think you should have been invited to but not heard anything, then don't go moaning to your mates about it. Get in touch with the organiser...it may be for a very good reason or just an oversight, but don't go getting all uptight about it. It's unlikely to be personal.
If you do get to attend an event there are going to be rules in place there as well...
follow them to be fair to others.

And if you're still not happy with what's being organised for you...Organise things yourself! :x

thats why a lot of the time peoople who want information on greenlaning and are too lazy to look at a map are not given any grid refs or information by the people in the know unless they know them.
