CLASSIC BRAKE OVERHAUL ?

(1/3) > >>

SPIKEY:
Hi all.

My 1988 3.5 E.F.I  will be having a complete front and rear brake job in the next few weeks.
The M.O.T tester put it down as an advise a couple of weeks ago, so the parts are on order and I will be doing it myself.

Any tips ?  Any short cuts ?  Do I need the swear box ?.

Front and rear discs, plus pads.

Any help will be grateful, as I have never done one, and the Haynes manual tells lies

Cheers,

SPIKEY.

That shows the pad change...  not the whole job, but a part of it.

Cheers Tim.

I was more concerned about the discs, as part of the hub has to come off first, judging by the Disco I have just been working on.

Take the caliper off, take the shaft end out.
Undo the hub nuts and slide the whole disc / hub off the stub axle.

In the back of the disc, there are a nuber of bolts..  take these out and separate the disc from the hub.  (I use a rubber mallet)

Refitting is the reverse.... etc.

SPIKEY:
Thanks Tim.

You make it sound so easy...............

I'll let you know how I get on.... or ask for help

Cheers,

SPIKEY.
