A bluetooth adaptor costs about £2 from ebuyer and they stick out about 5mm.

Ebay is the best place for gps recievers cheap though.

Disco Matt:
Weirdly, the Bluetooth type seem to be cheaper than a directly connected one.

You can get a Bluetooth GPS (look for 51 channel ones, they give a better fix even when the signal isn't wonderful) and the USB dongle to allow your laptop to talk to it for £35 or so. Be a bit wary of some of the ultra-cheap dongles as they sometimes have poor range.

Take a look at Amazon - they beat ebuyer by a considerable margin where customer service is concerned.

landmannnn:
I bought one last year from an ebay shop, a receiver with about 1 metre of wire that plugs into a usb port.  £8.

Speak to Papa Smurf. He has a marine grade one. They're about £60 on eblag.
