My understanding of the rules is that the registration plate stays with the chassis, but I think you may encounter a few problems, as according to the dvla you need 8 points and im not conviced you will get 8 points,

Heres a link
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/BuyingAndSellingAVehicle/RegisteringAVehicle/DG_10014199

but take lots of photos and keep a record so if dvla are interested you have some evidence for them

Use the id for chassis you are using,bodies are 99% identical anyway.Why swap bodies,why not just panels???????

Cos they dont fit  :roll: :roll:

'C reg will be exposed hinge, bonnet wings front doors and rear panel where fuel filler are all different.
Also swapping the bodies will include the floor, sills and all the steel bodyshell  ;)

Chassis 5 point axles 2 points each. =9  :clap:

If the chassis is bobbed already does that mean it is exempt from SVA?

Dont think the DVLA need to know about body swap, its a range rover body on a range rover chassis, like for like so to speak ??

Personly i would  bob the other rangy using the other one to follow and swap the roof and other parts over etc.

Personly i would  bob the other rangy using the other one to follow and swap the roof and other parts over etc.

Then a new build bob so would need SVA or at least inspection and engine swap (TDi) as would be the 'l' reg

Personally I would do the body swap  :D, no SVA no engine swap, keeping the the C reg chassis and running gear , Yes it will be hard work but looking at the pics on your link the body removal shouldnt take long  :shock:

As I understand it,

original unmodified chassis=5 points
original axles=2 points
original suspension=2 points
original steering gear=2 points
bodywork=1 point
engine=1 point
transmission=2 points
interior=0 points
