Fitting damper with sumo bars

Hi

Right I'm going to have to change the steering damper on my Discovery. I've got it mounted on the front like Defender. Its been leaking oil for a little while and now has stopped and I'm getting steering wobble over 50mph.

I got a pro comp one to go on.

Question is this...

I am a bit concerning that its not been setup right and that is why my bilstein has gone tits up. When I set it up I fitted it so it still had a bit travel left in it when it was fully compressed on full lock. Is this right and its just down to me driving it too hard?

I am going to have to check other stuff if the wobble is still there.

No suspension lift just a body lift.

Cheers...

Not the steering damper! Damn! Its time to check the swivel pretensions but I have a feeling its the hockey stick bushes or the steering arm bush are at fault?

Any suggestions?

J.D.:
If it is wheel wobble, it may be something simple such as wheel balancing or tracking.

alright john

this may seem silly but I was wondering if when you had poped the rim the first time had any of that clumpy mud got on the inside of the tyre and they never got it out at the tyre place. just having a guess. Is this something related to the steering problem you had or is that sorted now ?

I hope its the hocky sticks so I get to use my new vice lol

I've tried different tire combinations swapped the front for the spare, tried swapping them front to rear.

I don't think its a wheel out of balance.
