What compression tester would you recommend I buy for testing a 200tdi, I have seen a few on fleabay:

http://shop.ebay.co.uk/items/__diesel+compression+tester_W0QQ_dmdZ2?rvr_id=&crlp=2635251713_228459_228460&UA=WXI7&GUID=95f3c4b61230a0aad213ddc3ff39e06b&agid=273890857&MT_ID=11&keyword=diesel+compression+tester&ff4=228459_228460

I'm a bit unsure which would suit my needs, (occasional use), and would any adapters be required?

Firstly I have 300tdi, you will have to find out if they are same adapter for 200tdi (i.e if the glow plugs are the same then bob's your uncle)...

my diesel compression kit has the number : HS1020A

It's a model TU-15 adaptor kit with the gauge. In the box comes various adaptors and fittings, you just need to use one - it fits into the glow plug hole.

It's ref 6848 on this page:

30 quid!!!  bought mine from these guys on ebay for least double that couple year ago.
Anyway... it did the job for me - generally I think with diesels you either got good compression or it's totally naff so even though gauge is a chinese cheapy it will give a good indication.

Thanks for that, I only need one to find out if its the motor or the turbo seals causing my heavy oil consumption
