« on: August 28, 2009, 12:27:35 »
advice require

looking to change to bfgs on wolf wheels as soon as finances allow just wondering if there is sufficient offset on the wolf rims to go for 265/75x16 with out wheel spacers or do i stick at 235/85x16
p.s not planning any major mods to suspension so dont want to go for a bigger diameter

cheers kevin

The narrowes wheel width recomended for 265/75r16 tyres is 7" and IIRC the wolf wheels are narrower than this.

Offset shouldn't be an issue, 265/75r16 being an optional factory fitted size on defenders, though you may have to adjust the steering stops if they rub on the trailing arms.

hi chris
thanks for the reply, after making further inquires i can confirm you are correct and the wolf wheels are not wide enough for 265s so the next question is what are the benefit's of 265s over 235s apart from appearance
IE off road performance, road holding and ride comfort.
so do i stick to my guns and go for 235s on wolf rims or 265 on steel
