Removing an overdrive

Bit of an odd one this but hoping someone can help! A friend of mine recently bought a swb Series (unsure if it's a II or IIa, but it's the diesel version) and found that the previous owner had removed the overdrive before he took it away, leaving him with no drive. The vehicle was sold as complete but not running (seems to be a fuel problem), so he's currently chasing the seller for either the overdrive or the bits.
In the event that he doesn't get anywhere, what parts will he need to return the gearbox to standard? From a brief web search it seems he needs the transfer box input gear, the castellated nut, assorted other metal bits and obviously the blanking plate for the back of the 'box. Does anyone have a list of part numbers I can pass along and/or advice for reassembling these parts?

Supposedly the seller wants to put the overdrive on their other truck. But they allegedly only said this when he called to ask where the missing bit was...
My suggestion was that he ask for a partial refund and/or the bits they'll be taking off their other truck to restore his to original condition. Unfortunately they took the control lever and linkage too, otherwise he'd have a very effective bargaining tool!

Thanks Chris - will pass that on. I bet the cheap gearbox to strip for parts would be less!
