How we hated the spoiled rich kids with their fancy trendy bikes  Bet you went home and played with your BIG-TRAK robot vehicle and Atari 2600 games console too.

Bush Tucker Man:
Whilst admiring them, I much prefer the finesse of the top Cyclo-Cross riders in dealing with the obstacles* (dismounting/running/remounting/then carrying on at high-speed)

However, try 'YouTubing' Ot Pi

Or, for the older (ie; long term; early 90's MTB'ers), do you remember Jez Avery & the 'Hot Pies'? (sponsored by Etto helmets & 'Offroad' - makers of the 'Flex-Stem')

*I'm biased, as might be able to tell, as that's my sport

Trials bikes are a source of poverty, I dread to think how much one of my house mates speands on these bikes every year.

Just about every thing on the bike is a wearing part and will need replacing sooner or later. The trouble is weight is a big problem, so as much excess metal as possible is removed. The rims for example get drilled and machined out between the spokes to remove as much weight as possible, so despite starting out as expensive very strong wheels and the spokes being reuarly retightened, they are usually destroyed in not many hours riding.

boss:
i run alex supra -e rims......so strong! but heavy, its the only rim with a tripple wall(that i can find), to get tyres on i use a crowbar and to get them off i just cut them! i ride a heavy bike but han hop around 3ft from the floor too many people decide on spending there money on stupedly light parts and dont bother bulking up. the latter is better as you dont have to go to the gym :D
