Mild off road tyres??

<< < (3/3)

Disco Matt:
I'm thinking Kumho KL71s next time for me, I want something halfway between a BFG A/T and M/T pattern as the muds aren't as good on wet rock (which makes up a lot of the more technical lanes here).

I would like the new Insa Traction Tracks, but they don't do them in the size I want and I'm going off my Insa Dakars as they're noisy on the road and I'm not convinced by them for long distance tarmac driving. The Kumhos are almost the same price and are new tyres rather than remoulds.

dxmedia:
I'd suggest that the kl71's are a full on mud tyre, well far more than a bfg mud. They are rock bias though but only have a 2 ply sidewall.

Disco Matt:
The rock bias sounds good to me - it should equate to better wet weather tarmac handling too as those are pretty similar surfaces.

The problem is that I want to go to 245/75 R16 (biggest that will fit without a lift) and there are very few choices in that size. I've heard good things about KL71s and they're a fair bit cheaper than BFGs.
