All she got was 5 months prison, suspended!!!!!!

People like that should have their licenses taken away permanently with no chance of ever getting them back!!!

I'd have said two months inside, three year driving ban and required to retake driving test. That should be enough of a "jolt" to wake her up. Complete moron.

Think they should have done her for attempted murder, as if she had caused the patient to die then it would have been murder?

I may sound like a grumpy old man (OK, I am!!) but it strikes me that it is all part of a general attitude these days. There are far too many people who don't think, or even care, about the impact their actions have on others. Whether it be driving a car, or letting their dog foul in a park and leaving it there, or letting their kids run riot or....... well, you get my drift.

Fortunately, most anti-social behaviour doesn't risk someones life. But mindless actions could lead to more serious consequences as in this case.

Its not just you mate!

Heard on local news today on the radio about an elderly disabled woman who was assaulted last night by 2 youths in a car.  Apparently they drove along side, stopped, one got out and poured washing up liquid all over her and another got out and threw eggs at her :(

It just shows the way the youth of this country is going!!

death by dangerous driving  :undecided:

Very, very difficult to prove as it would have to be proved 'beyond all reasonable doubt' that they knew their actions were dangerous.

I would have said it would be difficult to get a manslaughter charge home.

I have been in a situation where I have been responding on a dual carraigeway to a life or death situation on 'bells and whistles' and I had a van pull out in front of me.
I could see it was a delibarate act, as there was no traffic in front of the van to cause it to pull out in front of me. I called the number in, the control room sent a unit round to 'speak' to him,
His excuse? "I didn't see the car coming up behind me"
It is much the same when you have drunk morons step out in front of a Plod car. We all know why they do it, but if I hit them, I get in the crap.
Not worth my job.

Run her off the road, then it would be her needing the ambulance. Unfortunately the ambulance has been delayed due to some moronic driver.

Personally i think perminantly banning would not be good enough! People like this just flout the law. She would drive under a different name. There are plenty of people who do this. Change their name, and reapply.

Unfortunately more and more this is happening, so much so, the Government brought in new laws a couple of years back that allowed prosecutions of people that deliberately block, harrass, abuse etc emergency workers.

Also unfortunately not many prosecutions have happened!!

In my role as a Coastguard attending life and death scenarios, we regularly have people causing us problems like blocking us from passing, or blocking a helecopter from landing through stupid actions.

This one in the article needs shooting! LOcking up is too good for her!
