Thanks for the info guys.... I have a friend who might be breaking a facelift, hence the question, given the amount of stuff I need for mine I think I'll try to find a complete car and break it myself, this will then give me more stuff for the future. Managed to break the drop glass whilst down in the door, ouch that was a tight lane.

Can't seem to stay away from gnarly lanes

Need wider tyres - they would get near body work then

Tyres already wider than Jeep, trees and branches hurt panels, tyres survive  :D

Here's another tough lane 'gnarly ring' proper tester, spat waffle boards 15+ meters, a great lane, you can see the yellow waffle flying, some made it around the corner, happy days  :D

Went to buy another Cherokee and thought we'd better check out some lanes on the way there  :D

Found this beauty

New Cherokee a real gem, wasn't expecting much for £250 (£50 worth of tax in the window  :)) but when we got there we found it was 1997, with history in real good condition, within 10 minutes of driving it back and finding how comfy the later leather seats are I decided it was to become my new laning vehicle and the old one would be broken for spares, although since it's still T&T until Decemeber I may as well run both, might take the old one on a punch hunt, swampers will fit  :D

Some pics:

Was busy yesterday removing the rear anti roll bar, mirrors, (bought fold flat Toyota ones) service and put some old muds I had lying around, no time to remove fog lights. Went laning last night, n/s fog was already cracked, o/s survived, will take off as will make reverse light I guess... Got some mad plans for the old green Cherokee, lets just say we are hoping to 'redneck' it  ;)

This hadn't been driven for a while and the last lane of the night...

Looks better with mud and a wee bit smaller than the green one

Bolt on rock sliders did there job...

Yeah the price of Cherokee's is real give it away material, we just picked up another one for laning T&T 4.0, £300, what would that get you in other makes? On the way home we did some gnarly steep rocks, on road tyres, made it more fun as more skill & thought needed. It's happy days in Jeep world eh?

It's like the mecca of all Jeeps yeah?

Although, this rocks my boat:

They do this as the body can flex more, redneck and better off road... I've checked and you don't need doors for an MOT, old skool wing mirror needed, gunna show the local MOT place the pick and then if OK, bring it on!

well, goes without sayin that it would look way better if matt black, but the basics of 33's and a 4" lift suit the mighty chief perfectly, as they do with the slightly mightier CJ7 as well
