anyone converted to a 300tdi auto

Hi folks looking at taking the v8 out very soon and have been looking at 200 and 300tdi  :) I have been offered a second chance on a 300tdi for good money but it's an auto has anyone ever converted a 90 to auto  :-k or know what they are like off road  :D cheers Mike

Hi Mate, the other question on my mind is
 "How hard is it to change an automatic engine to a standard flywheel type?"

 I,ve been offered a fairly low mileage 300tdi auto engine and box at the right money(wonder if its the same one as you hve been offered?) for my 130, but I don,t think the box would be too happy pulling my loaded truck around.
I have the parts cat for defender but not for the disco to do the cross referencing.

Swap back plates and flywheel and torque converter etc.  Sorted :D

 Iirc the gearchange may be in the wrong place for a direct swop disco/defender and later auto engines were fly by wire, but nothing is imposible on a landy :lol:
