Can someone tell me what the black thing is (not the pipe!), at the center of this picture?

It's leaking engine oil all over the drive/road. can it be fixed (new gasket?) or will it more likely need replacing?

Is it not the oil filter adaptor :?:

If you mean the item behind the green pipe clip.

I belive it's the Brake Vacuum Pump.

No idea, what's one of those?

I'm sure the mechanic chappy said something about it being some sort of pump, but I didn't pay enough attention :roll:
