Decent heavy duty rear bumper for 300Tdi Disco?
« on: April 29, 2009, 18:19:06 »
Hi,

Im looking for a decent rear bumper for my new 300Tdi Disco, all I can find is the paddocks one, not waht i'm looking for. Ideally a tubular construction or one with built in recoery points, seem to be a problem though due to the lights in the bumper. Anyone got any recomendations?

Cheers,
Iain

I'm know Guardian 4x4 used to sell rear tubular bumpers for the Discovery but I've just looked on there website but there not listed  only the one for the Range Rover Classic. It might be worth giving Spence a ring and see what he can do for you.

I've got the discoparts one, a bit spendy (was about £240) but its very well made (galv then powder coat over the top) and doesn't stick out as far as the original...

Hi,

Had a look around, Discoparts website seems to have dissapeared. Kaymar and ARB websites are a pain to navigate and there doesn't seem to be anything within a decent budget, silly money really. Goldigger one seems to be what i'm looking for but not available anymore!

Failing that you have two options a) fit lights elsewhere or b) fool it into thinking its got indicators by fitting a pair of resistors in it their place to stop the indicators going real fast.

Personally I got a set of kit car lights (small round recessed lights) and drilled the heavy duty bumper off my old 200 so they would fit.

I have see someone else who refitted the lights onto his roof rack so he could also use a heavy duty 200 bumper.

Sure somebody could do better but that is mine for what its worth.
