Old TV Programmes
« on: December 11, 2003, 09:40:39 »
I've read about this great site about old TV programmes in a magazine called 'Retro-Car' (which in itself is good for lovers of '70's cars).

The site plays the opening title sequences, or a 'snippet'

It has a very comprehensive listing, for example;

Childrens;  (including Banana-Man for Andy)
Comedy (The Young Ones, Open All Hours, In Sickness & In Health)
Public Information ("Charley Says...", HMCGS -"Look Petunia, he's waving at us")

www.tv-ark.org.uk

There's a nice one under the 'Adverts' listing; 'Leyland'. It features the XJS, Allegro, 1275GT, Midget, Dolomite Sprint & the SD1.

Not had chance to look fully round it myself, but it ought to bring back plenty of memories for most people

I used to get odd looks from the people I worked with when at times of great stress I'd start singing the banana splits theme tune...

One Banana Two Banana Three Banana Four,
Four Bananas make a bunch and so do many more,
Coming up the highway the banana buggies go,
coming up to bring you the banana splits show

tra la la, la la la laaa, tra la la la la la la laaaa

Four Banana Three Banana Two Banana One,
Four Bananas play in the bright hot sun,
.....
