DRILL EXPERT NEEDED
landy_bug:
B&Q Gloucester doing makita 18v for same money much better drill in my opinion i have used many brands and currently use 14.4v makita more than man enough as powerful as dewalt 18v but much lighter just has smaller chuck.

thats good value for the money, altough if you need to use it all day away from a power source a third battery rated at 2.6 or 3.0 ah (or whatever its called)would be fairly usefull. there was somewhere(bandq?) doing a package with a dewalt sds corded drill and a similar battery drill to that one for £100 which is also pretty good.
i buy makitas personally but that one seems better than the £100 makita in my opinion
Mutz:
Dont bother, save up for something with 3.0 ah batts.
that must be a very old drill as they usually come with 2 ah batts.
I would save a bit more and go for the Makita Li-ion battery job only 1 battery but full charge in 22 mins.
I always bought Dewalt but unfortunatley they have been going down hill in performance and quality; the new model Makita's are brill, same bat. fits all equipment.
Saffy:
Was a time when you only seen Dewalt in industrial trade only counters, since they are now mainstream (and cheaper!) I am wondering if it's a different quality product as it doesn't pay to have DIY equipment last past a warranty period of occasional home use (black&decker experts on that science).
When I was apprentice the chippy's int he factory where idolising "Makita", what do they go for these days in the trade?

I think the twin drill with batts. Driver + Combi drill is about the £250
I bought one for home which was the limited edition (black&white) 18v 1 batt. and its far supperior to the 18v Dewalt. got for £140.
