if the cambelt has snapped the damage is already done, so it wont hurt it much, (might be worth taking the rockers and pushrods off and do it that way, the you know the valves will all be closed)

Geoff30:
OK, have tried using the engine, have tried my air gun (although not convinced this is working correctly) have tried heating it up and bouncing on it with big bar and still no joy.

What if I cut the washer off would that help relieve the pressure on the bolt and then let it come undone?????

stageonesimmo:
Wow - unusual for a rattle gun to not work!

What size gun is it and have you got access to a bigger one!?

Mine have always come off just using a breaker bar and the engine hold bar against the chassis leg.......... (mind you, there has alwasy been a bit of back pain involved later!  ;) )

Geoff30:
Not sure of exact spec of the rattler, it is an old one I was given, unfortunately I dont have access to another one, might shop for new one and see if that is any better.
