ignition failure

even easier which is what I did. get a wire from the postive terminal on the battery, run it to a switch in the disco ( I wont say where mine is mounted!) and then a wire back to the stop solonoid. That bypasses everything. I flick it on, turn ignition and start. to stop turn off with key then flick switch. Handy if you leave the disco running but want to take the keys with you!! :D
Cheaper than £10 and never a problem. My local Landy dealer told me to not bother resetting the imobiliser as what I had done, they thought was better than an imobiliser.
If anyone gets in my disco and turns the key / hot wires it all that will happen is the engine will turn over but it wont start unless they know where the special switch is.
On the O/S of the bulk head is a hole into behind the dash which neatly fits 2 wires as well so not even any drilling involved! Also no nead to dismantle the dash board!

im going to fit a push button/flick switch onto mine for when i drown the alarm ECU again, will only work if you have the keys in the car and still works stop solenoid on the key but won't start on the key, so you wont just be able to do what a lot of thieves do and just change the barrel for one they have the key for.
it will also prevent you from burning out the alternator by taking the keys out and leaving the engine running.
