VOSA 7.5+ tonne regulation changes
« on: March 06, 2009, 20:02:47 »
Not sure how many of you guys this will affect ... maybe some of you that tow vehicles on trailers to events.

Basically VOSA are now treating any work (including sitting behind a desk at work) as work which could conflict with rest hours required for driving HGV vehicles.

http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/news/397/278245.html

I guess this could affect any truckers who do non-driving part time work at the weekend as well.

Cheers,

Z~

Hey All

This  effects alot of people including military vehicles.

For example last week I was on exercise and the nominated drivers for sunday had to proove they had 8 hours uninterupted break/sleep on the eat/sleep cards befoer they were allowed to depart! and that was for small vehicles too!

Cheers

Im a TA vehicle specialist on the weekends and a class 1 hgv during the week so when i tip up for duty on the weekend theoretically i cant do anything but rest! Only problem with this is the army count drill as not work so if i cant drive i can be drilled up and down a parade square for 8hrs a day without breaking the law. No early finishes on a sunday as i need to have the correct rest b4 i can drive home and a monday off work to make up my legal rest period, what a load off **** This country is letting the health and safety police bring this country to its knees and needs to get the balls to tell the eu to shove it and exempt TA drivers from this legislation. Like thats gonna happen.

Thanks Mike, I am sure I will post up "if" I pass [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o<

I have been told it's best if I keep a log of all hours I work and of  ALL hours I drive, even when I drive my own car. This includes when laneing for the day (I think not) 8-[ 8-[ 8-[

On a positive note muddy h if your card is faulty they must replace it free of charge.Medicals should be tax deductable and all resonable costs to attend said medical be refundable and i for one am struggling as a limited company to get enough driving work to pay he bills
