--- Quote from: muddyjames on March 02, 2009, 15:27:23 ---well as I have towed out tree stumps from derelict canal beds with mine then a hedge should be dead easy. On the stumps it couldnt pull out I had both feet on my foot brake whilst someone else used a huge tirfor on the back of the disco to ease the stump out a bit then I had another go towing! :D  :D

Reminds me of using a vehicle as an anchor for a tirfor when pulling out a tree - it was a close run thing as to whether the tree was coming out of the canal, or the vehicle was going in...

Lost the rag having to squeeze past an overgrown bush going up the path to our front door once. Loaded down with shopping et al and the d...[ahem!] darn thing was slapping at my face and catching my arms...
Got through... dumped the shopping... connected tow rope to bush and towbar... selected low box... first gear (though second may have offered more control!)...
Bush 0 - Disco 1!

Land Rover Gardening... there's nothing like it!

PS... wonder what a question on Land Rover gardening would sound like on Radio 4's Gardners Question Time...?! 8-[

been a expert tree sergeon, ( I DONT THINK ) lol me and 2 mates were removing some 40ft conifer type trees from the bank behind a friend house, before anyone says anything we checked with the council and they said we could remove them,
anyway we got some safety bits on and proceeded to chop the trees down, but the trunk bent back abit toward his house, doh, so i ran home jumped in the disco and drove into his back garden, my mate tied a rope to the tree went down the bank and a snatch block to another tree, we all [-o< [-o< [-o< this worked or good buy roof, i slowly reversed and the tree straightnd itself so i kept pulling and see went the right way and feel down the bank,
since i have now sold the chainsaw and bought some pruners anything i cant cut with them says there, lol
