series 2a to a 3
muddyjames:
I was wondering.
How easy is it to convert a 2a into a series 3 dash board? I dont like the dash with the speedo in the middle of the landy etc. If I di convert it then would it keep it's tax exempt status? And I cant remember about the headlights. Are they in the middle or outside?

2a have lights in the grill on the early ones and lights in the wings on later ones.
Rich_P:
Might be easier to fit a Series 3 bulkhead rather than mess about with a Series 2 type. The Series 2 bulkheads are getting a bit thin on the ground now.
As said already, most 2s and 2As have lights in the grille. They moved to the wings around '68 but retained a mesh grille.
Would it not be easier to buy an early Series 3 that's tax exempt?

I have been looking for a while to find a tax exempt s3 but there are none within easy reach ofme to go and look at. I was wondering if a 2a came along within easy reach then I would open my options up a bit. You are totaly right though, it would be ALOT easier to find a tax exempt s3!!
