discowoman:
for the sake of £2 a week (£cost of tax)- why not go for a slightly newer S3 ?
Tax exemption is nice, but the savings dont outweigh the difference in price (currently about 3-400 more expensive for a tax exempt status)

Since when has being sensible come into lr ownership

I also tax 2 other cars at £185 a year and as the s3 would be very little used I dont really want to pay for something to sit around doing even less than the disco! I could tax it then sorn it but then that is a real faf!

I would like a s3 as I LOVE driving them. It is a vehicle you have to drive unlike the other 2 cars I have where you just sit and point!

carbore:
Hello,

A) I assume your not interested in my Tax exempt S3 (needs a lot of work but all the bits are there, for now (( see other post)) unfortunately its in Cornwall!

B) Rather than possibly devalue a 2a how about fitting an after market spedo that you can easily remove thus preserving originality but still providing ease of day to day use. Alternatively use a sat nav/road angel with speedo, may be more accurate than al old landy speedo?

I did se your post and did think about it. Unfortunately cornwall is a long way from me and I am kinda hoping for a mot'd one. If I had a "project" series it would stay a project for a long time. Although I would love a project to work on, but I dont have the room to do it all.

I use my sat nav most of the time anyway for another way of telling speed in the disco but I really like the s3 dash layout. I'm not a huge fan of s2, the same way as I hated driving my brothers new style mini a few years ago. that also has speedo in the middle of the car. How easy would it be to move the speedo to the middle of the steering wheel then?
