No. First off, I'm not on about the Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks, Rebecca Romijn-Stamos type of supermodel, but the TV series.
On SKY 133 (Home & Leisure) there is a series called 'Super-Models' mainly about the larger/more outlandish radio controlled models.
Last night they showed a special about a show in Dortmund, Germany
It featured the most incredible scaled down trucks & construction machinery.
Most of them were mainly modelled in 1/8th scale.
One such beast was a mobile crane, of the multi-axle high capacity type. Even at 1/8th scale it still stood almost 30foot high when extended, and could carry about 14stones. Incredible.
Others included caterpillar 'dozers, articulated dumpers, drag-lines, all manner of trucks.
Everything was unloaded from a truck by another model.
If something broke down it was towed/carried away, not simply picked up.
The last 'vehicle' featured was a 1/3 scale articulated loading-shovel. The real thing would probably weigh about 15tons & stand 12foot high, this was powered by a small diesel engine (for the hydraulic pump) and was about 5foot high.
I want one!!
Do yourself a favour and keep an eye out for this special, it's amazing.
FAO; Chris/Moose. Do you know where this show is?, or have a link?

Glad you saw it Dave, thought I might have been the only one.
Yes. I'll be interested in seeing the finished model, especially when they've got all 4 jet-engines fitted.
I wouldn't like to think of the cost of some of the componants in some of them, let alone the man-hours spent.
There was another programme on H&L (can't remember the name) where a chap who also presents childrens TV (Kevin, from 'Blues Clues') was holding a fighter that had a single engine.
He had it braced against his waist, and was struggling to hold it once the fuel feed was turned up & it started to produce real thrust.
(1Ib of thrust = 2BHP)

far be it for me to question, but given your accident history and breaking of things, is having one of these a wise move??

I wonder if they sell a kit for the Concorde - I reckon they'd sell shed loads at the moment, even at a high price. What a fantastic bit of work.

I want one of those jet turbine helicopters they showed earlier in the series. That was a beautiful piece of machinery.

Hi All,
The Concorde in the pictures is a home build by some chap in Germany,
he has built other airliners as well.

David,
Yes I caught the C17 flying, superb wasn't it?
On plane Idon't suppose anyone will be able accurately model & fly will be the 'Stealth Bomber'
Far too unstable without all that supercomputing.
Did you have a look at

Got the beast running today [ this is my sons 15cc petrol off road r/c buggy]
It took 15 secs for the clutch to pick up the drive, and next doors fence or what remains of it to stop it - oops  , a least the cats now don't have to jump over it, they go through the hole.
