Where do you put yours?
burgerman:
A cb in a freelander ?? Looking for a discrete place yet accesible location , Any tips/pics please ?? :)

Right i've mounted the cb unit on top of the dash above the radio. I removed the rubber mat and screwed it in, as it's the most accesible position and if i come to sell the freelander out comes the unit, back goes the mat and all the holes are nicely covered, plus i've also fitted quick release connectors to the power supply and aerial feed should you ever need to remove it in a hurry.
I have also seen other frebbie's with them mounted above the rear view mirror, but i'm not sure exactly how they are fitted.
The twig on mine is mounted to roofrack, but i have seen mounts on flebay that fix to the spare wheel.
Gordo:
This is a very good question, and one I was going to ask sooner or later :)
Having a post-facelift Freelander I don't have a handy tray on top of the dash, but I was thinking of slotting it down beside the passenger seat and the transmission tunnel. I'm not all that keen on drilling holes though.
I've just ordered the spare-wheel mount for the twig (I'm getting the hang of the jargon too :-. ), again so I don't have to drill holes. It should be easy to remove it too because I don't really want it on all the time.
My other idea was to get an adaptor to fit it in the slot for the radio - mine has the double-height radio, but I don't want to lose the music so I either need a way of fitting two single height units in the space, or a plan C.
mill2020:
If yours is a later model and has a "double din unit" the best option would be to replace it with a standard radio unit & facia surround for your CB.
That way you keep everything neat & tidy with no holes.

Only problem with that is........... Land Rover in their wisdom made it 'Din and a half' - not 'double din' so it doesn't work!
however - this option works well
