Damsel in need of Help......!
« on: February 11, 2009, 22:22:31 »
 Yes, I need help but of a boring nature.

I have a load of boxes that need to go up into the loft - unfortunately its a two person job.

Can someone spare half an hour of so to hand these boxes up to me in the loft?

Tea/coffee and biscuits on tap and if you time it right - a drink at the local?

I'd love to come and help......
Just a couple of problems -

1/ I'm on the Isle of Wight, so I'm looking at 2+ hours drive, plus ferry travel.
2 / Not over keen on heights - actually live in a bungalow!
3 / Bit stuck for lifting stuff at the mo' since I chopped half the nail (and rest of finger-tip) off 2 weeks ago (and it still hurts!)

Other than that, I'd be on my way!

I'm sure some kind hearted chap will be along soon with a more helpful suggestion and hope you get sorted.

Regards,  Chris

Hmmmm! As for being scared of heights........it me up in the loft - all I need is someone to pass the boxes up to me!

And as for breaking a nail................only joking!  I'm sure that it hurts in the cold. I have a tenton injury and thats hurting like mad when its below freezing.

Shirley is a southern suburb of Birmingham.

Thank you Trecfive - I'll give you a pm tomorrow - I is late for work!  :police:

Can't be bothered?!   CAN'T BE BOTHERED?!?!?!?!  Lets just have a quick think here, what was you said after I dug you out of a ditch with my BARE HANDS while up to my knees in water........ oh yeah, thats right...... "Thanks for that, I owe you one!

And I got you a Christmas present!!!!

don't rise to it! seems some people need to get there own house in order before poking there nose into others YES YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE

Notice that some have gone very quiet, can't help to rise to it - I was really upset about it.

What it quite ironic is that the Pingicula (if my memory serves me correctly) is a carnivorous plant! Whats being said there? Suppose it ties in with the rumours really.  :|

Have you got this done yet?

As everyone else has put silly threads up I will offer to help you. How urgent are you needing the boxes shifted? I occasioanly pass near brum on my outings at weekends. Stratford is closer but your not there!!! So if I can help I will help you.

I will say though, dont do asmy dad did when he was a kid and make a loft lift from an old washing machine motor. His mate had never gone so fast verticaly in all his life!!

I might be able to tinker a bit with a spanor - but there is no chance of me achieving something like that!!

I have Muddy Mark comming round on Saturday morning, our shifts have not made it easy! And to be fair - some of it has been my fault - I have been very busy with work.  :police: It being half term and all that.

There have also been a few people who have not said anything on the tread as well, so my thanks go out to Burgerman and HiQ Lee. I will keep the thread updated so we can all sigh in relief when these flaming boxes are out of my way..............   :D Can't wait!

Thank you!

Thank you to MuddyMark for helping me with the stuff that needed to be put up into the loft. It is such a relief to get them out the way!

Also, thank you yo HiQLee, Burgerman, Treckfive (!), Muddy James and Stuntman (would have been cool if you had turned up with your pony!) for offering to help.

Sorry for taking so long to update the thread, the bad bit is that I was burgalled on Friday night (shame they didn't take the boxes instead of all my jewellery  :( ) and since Monday I have been ill in bed - other than to crawl to work!

Thank you Treckfive and Trec 2 for a good day on Sunday.
