ups & downs of owning cars - peugeot comes good

(1/2) > >>

discomummy:
Hi,

the up side is the disco has been fixed, MOT'd & insured - just waiting on the VIC check, but it is legal to drive whilst i am waiting for it.  Himself has lots of brownie points saved up from this

However, the downside is that the turbo has gone on pugsley the peugeot and peugeot are being a bit awkward about it.  it turns out that unlike what we were led to believe about the service history being complete - the 24k & 60k services were missed (it was a peugeot lease car) and because of this, peugeot are saying they will not help us.  our garage (sunwin in loughborough - one of the best places i have ever gone for car care) are fighting hard on our behalf, but i have a secret weapon, geoff  i have sicced him onto peugeot.

thank goodness that sonar is back on the road otherwise i would be really stuck.

regards

Range Rover Red:
You don't seem to have much luck with them, do you!

The Mondeo is currently on borrowed time - about a year ago, I gave it two years to see how much money I would have to pour into it (it's P reg with 94,000 on the clock and I had to spend about £700 on bits that had worn out a couple of years ago).  It's still a really nice car but I found it was a bit surplus to requirements as we have the RR for pulling our 17ft caravan (which is a bit big for the Mondeo) and for sheer brute strength/load capacity and it's also insured for me to take to work.  HWTHSBO (another Geoff) has his Focus, which is a bit naughty as it wants me to drive it too fast, which we use as a runabout.  I only really use the Mondeo to go to work in.

At the moment the RR is eating batteries like they are going out of fashion and won't start; I had to get a jump start to get home from work on Friday after it spent Wednesday on the charger and Thursday going for a good run.  The Focus is now running like a bag of spanners since the cold weather - perhaps it doesn't like the slope on the drive.  The only one that is running anything like properly is the Mondeo.

I have always said to younger friends, "Learn to drive, but don't buy a car!"

Range Rover Blues:
My other car is also a Range Rover, it pays to have a spare.

lurch_917:
well my other car is a mythical minnor mythical as it dosent break down  minnor as putting gas in is only a minnor problem

Big Rich:
