Loud rubbing noise coming from my 90... Sometimes

Mark_Solesbury:
Hey

In the snow this afternoon it have removed rear prop, removed handbrake, drained oil from transfer box, removed inspection cover on transfer box - all looks ok. Nothing untoward in the oil. Refitted/refilled everything.

Been for a test drive, and all seems ok - but it was ok yesterday, and not this morning.

Its starting to do my nut.

I cant really book it in anywhere as i dont have a clue whats wrong with it to tell them where to look!

Possibly gearbox bearing - where the prop enters the casing, Mine did it worse on "off throttle"   :-k

Hmm... I have no way of testing for that..

What was your fix?

it's the dust cover for that bearing that I was on about...

Mark_Solesbury:
Ahh..

Ive been working on the rear prop/handbrake area.

Is this on the front of the box?

There's also one of those dust covers on each diff flange.
