CB Mounting
« on: January 25, 2009, 09:42:29 »
Hi folks.  I've just gone and got myself a Maverick, and I've been trying to decide where to put the CB.  Just wondered where everyone else had put them?

Hi Nath

That had been my first thought, but mine sticks out alot.  Did you end up chopping the back out?

Most use the cubbybox infront of the gear sticks, there is a bit of room behind the back of the cubbybox but you''ll have to unclip the front to remove the box to see if there is enough room for what you need :DI fitted mine down the drivers side of the transmission tunnel with a hook under the console 7 a braket going from the rig to the lower dash fixing screw, never worked loose yet :-$ ;)

I cut a section of the back out to allow for the ariel connection.

Finally got round to it today.  I've put it in the storage tray under the dash.  I had to cut the bottom of it out completely, and also trim the CB surround.

Looks neat. Good job it's a right hand front face mounted mic socket. What's the sound like now though, not the greatest of speakers at best let alone when boxed in or you using an external speaker?

I've fitted an external speaker.  Like you say, they're not the best anyway, so I didn't think it'd be worth not having one.
